Nearly 20 years after hosting its first Interlegal meeting, Kaufhold & Reveillaud, Avocats again had the privilege of welcoming the longstanding legal network to Luxembourg. Over 42 Interlegal delegates, and an equal number of European auditors from partner network EuraAudit International, flew in for four days of learning, sharing & connecting.
Interlegal – a global network of law firms that understands how cross-border expertise and cooperation directly benefit clients – comes together twice annually to strengthen its international ties and learn from one another.
“This network and its events are ultimately dedicated to offering the best-possible client services. For example, if a client comes to me and needs support in corporate or tax law in the US, then I know exactly who to call,” explained Brigitte Czoske, Counsel, Kaufhold & Reveillaud, Avocats. “I can offer them a network of lawyers and auditors that I know and trust.”
International in the truest sense of the word, event attendees included delegates from across the globe: Thailand, Uruguay, Greece, Japan, Mexico, Israel and beyond.
The exclusive network, founded in 1984, features one business-oriented, independent law firm per country, offering individuals an alternative to large multinational firms. Through Interlegal, clients access the best of both worlds: broad expertise and international reach, along with personalized, quality service.
The event, attended by roughly 120 individuals and held at the Chamber of Commerce, was double its usual size due to the fact that every second year Interlegal invites members of the auditor’s association EuraAudit International to participate.
Monday’s meeting kicked off with a speech by Nicolas Mackel, CEO, Luxembourg for Finance, followed by sessions on cryptocurrency, GDPR, marketing and international arbitration. A packed itinerary featured day trips to the European Court of Justice, Mudam and Kaufhold & Reveillaud’s offices, as well as a Moselle boat trip to Schengen.
As usual, the event incorporated presentations on a wide spectrum of legal and business topics, letting participants compare and learn from different legal systems. Workshops and presentations covered both specialized subjects, as well as more general, though highly relevant, management and marketing topics.
With another Interlegal meeting in the books, the network has Greece and India to look forward to next year.
